William Lane is the managing partner of O’Connor, Parsons, Lane & Noble, LLC. He is a highly skilled and experienced plaintiff’s personal injury trial attorney, specializing in medical malpractice, personal injury, wrongful death and hospital negligence cases. Mr. Lane has successfully obtained numerous million dollar and multi-million dollar verdicts and settlements on behalf of his clients.

Mr. Lane is certified by the Supreme Court of New Jersey as a Civil Trial Attorney. Mr. Lane is licensed to practice law in both the State of New Jersey and in the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey.

Having begun his legal career at a medical malpractice defense firm, he is uniquely qualified to represent individuals that have been seriously injured at the hands of negligent medical providers. His invaluable experience has led to quantifiable success representing injured parties and their families in the prosecution of medical malpractice and other personal injury matters

Mr. Lane is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers, one of the premier legal associations in North America. The College is composed of the best of the trial bar from the United States and Canada. Fellowship in the College is extended by invitation only, and only after careful evaluation, to experienced trial attorneys who have “mastered the art of advocacy” and whose professional careers have been “marked by the highest standards of ethical conduct, professionalism, civility and collegiality.” Lawyers must have a minimum of fifteen (15) years trial experience before they can be considered for Fellowship. Of note, Fellowship in the College cannot exceed one percent of the lawyer population in any state of province

Mr. Lane has consistently served his community, fulfilling his civic responsibility as a member of the Borough of Mountainside Town Council from 2001 through 2016. He has also served on the Mountainside Local Ethics Board. Further, in the spirit of giving back, he has lectured at a number of continuing education seminars on various topics including medical malpractice and ethics. He also served as the Attorney Coach for the Seton Hall Prep High School Mock Trial team from 2014 to 2016, helping to cultivate the next generation of attorneys.

He is also involved with numerous professional organizations including the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA) and the New Jersey State Bar and Union County Bar Associations as well as Trial Attorneys of New Jersey (TANJ) and the American Association for Justice (AAJ).

Mr. Lane received his Bachelor of Science degree from Rutgers University (1990) and a Juris Doctorate degree from Mercer University, Walter F. George School of Law in Macon, Georgia (1993).

Mr. Lane has received numerous honors including the designation of being included on the Super Lawyers list in New Jersey Monthly Magazine (2008 to the present). He was previously identified as a Rising Star in New Jersey Monthly Magazine from 2006 to 2007 and as one of New Jersey’s 10 Leaders in Civil Trial and Personal Injury Law (age 45 and under).

Mr. Lane is also listed in Best Lawyers in America in the field Medical Malpractice Law – Plaintiffs.

Mr. Lane was voted Best Lawyers - Lawyer of the Year for Plaintiffs Medical Malpractice Law – Newark 2023.

He is a member of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum. Membership to the Million Dollar Advocates Forum involves obtaining a recovery of more than one million dollars in a case and then paying a fee to the Forum for lifetime membership.
