LYNDHURST – A complaint has been filed against the Lyndhurst Police Department alleging the town violated the New Jersey Law Against Discrimination when it failed to hire a veteran as a police officer in June of last year and instead hired relatives of the mayor and a former commissioner.

The complaint was filed yesterday, Jan. 22, in Bergen County Superior Court by Gregory Noble on behalf of his client, Brandon Swillinger. The complaint seeks a trial by jury and compensatory, consequential and punitive damages as well as legal fees.
