Crash-in-Brick-Leaves-One-Bicyclist-Seriously-Injured

BRICK, NJ (6/6/2020) - A bicyclist was seriously injured after being struck by a car early Saturday morning. The accident occurred around 2:00 a.m. at 2775 Hooper Avenue.

According to the Brick Township Police Department, 28-year-old Emmanuel Cardona was driving her blue 2019 Honda Accord north on Hooper Avenue when she hit a bicyclist trying to cross the street. The bicyclist, 38-year-old Daniel Meza, landed on the hood of the Accord and rolled into the windshield before falling off of the car.

Paramedics from Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital took Meza to the Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune where he is recovering from head, back, and lower leg injuries. Police diverted traffic from the northbound lanes of Hooper Avenue while they investigated the crash. So far, no charges have been filed against Cardona.
