A lot of clients call the office thinking they have a case of what they call harassment, but sexual harassment is a particular type if harassment under the law.

Sexual harassment involves just what the name sort of says, sexual conduct. It involves things like unwanted looks, advances, touching, conditioning a benefit of employment on sex or a date with your boss. So it really goes beyond just your boss being mean to you, it has to involve some sort of sexual conduct and that could be an environment which overall because of these comments and touching and insults becomes hostile.

Or it can be a situation where you have something called quid pro quo sexual harassment where your boss is conditioning a benefit of employment on something sexual whether it’s a date or sex or anything like that. So when we talk about sexual harassment these are the things that we’re talking about, thank you.
