NEWARK, NJ (1/25/2020) — Two women died and three others were injured after their car hit a pole and a tree early Saturday morning.
According to police, the crash occurred around 3:30 a.m. at 15th Avenue and Hunterdon Street in Newark.
Two women, Tahtiyanna Green, 17, and Imani Exum, 21, died shortly after the crash.
Two male passengers and another female passenger, who have not yet been identified to the press, were transported to University Hospital after the crash. The two males are currently in critical condition and the female remains in stable condition as of Saturday.
The accident is still under investigation by the Essex County County police department.
