Suspect Identified in Hit-and-Run That Killed 12-Year-Old Boy

Union, NJ – A hit-and-run on Wednesday, July 17 critically injured a 12-year-old boy, who died at the hospital. Authorities reported that the incident was reported just before 8 p.m. on Forest Road and that it was raining hard when the incident occurred.

After hitting the boy, the driver, later identified as Jeremy Maraj, did not stop and left the scene.

The driver was identified Friday morning thanks to his employer, who became suspicious when the suspect showed up to work with damage with a damaged vehicle.
