How to Get Your New Jersey State Police Crash Report

If the New Jersey State Police responded to your crash, search for your report on the New Jersey State Police website. How you request your report depends on whether the accident was on a toll or non-toll road. Details for obtaining your report for non-toll roads and toll-roads including the New Jersey Turnpike, Garden State Parkway or the Atlantic City Expressway are outlined below.

1. Request A NON-TOLL ROAD Crash Report

For accidents on non-toll roads where the New Jersey State Police responded you can request your crash report online, through the mail or in-person.

Non-Toll Road Crash Report Requests can be made online for accidents that happened on or after January 1, 2013.

  • Begin your search by entering either case number, drivers license number, license plate number, and/or the last name of an involved party.
  • Once the record is located, you will receive an email with instructions for how to download your report. You will have access to the report for up to 14 days from the date of delivery.
Important notes about requesting your report online.
  • Allow at least 24 hrs from the time of the accident to use the search.
  • Fulfillment can be same day or up to one week, requests based only on crash details may take up to 3 months to be delivered.
  • Each report costs $13. Acceptable forms of payment include Visa, Master Card, Discover, American Express, credit or debit cards.

  • Report copies cost $10.
  • Be sure to include your fee by certified check, business check, or money order made payable to New Jersey State Police, DO NOT SEND CASH.

Request Your Report In Person

  • Reports are not available to anyone in person at the New Jersey State Police division headquarters.
  • Check with the local investigating station for in-person copies of your report. Uncertified copies of crash reports occurring on NON TOLL roads are typically available to drivers and registered vehicle owners at no charge. Copies will be available in two weeks.

For Certified Copies of Reports

Certified copies are often necessary for a legal proceeding. Reports received online and in person are uncertified copies and may not be accepted for all purposes. You must make a written request for certified copies of Crash reports. 2. Request A TOLL ROAD Crash Report

New Jersey Turnpike or Garden State Parkway Crash Reports

For accidents that took place on the New Jersey Turnpike or Garden State Parkway Toll Roads you can request your crash report online, or by mail, email and fax.

To obtain your report online begin your search on the Toll Road Crash Report Request website.

  • Search by selecting the state (NJ), then choose either NJ Turnpike or Garden State Parkway.
  • Next, enter the report number or last name of the involved party and the date of the accident
Important notes about requesting your report online.
  • Online reports cost $5.
  • Reports involving government vehicles and fatalities on the NJ Turnpike or GS Parkway are only available by contacting the NJ Turnpike Authority directly at (732)442-8600 ext 2431

Reports can also be obtained online by mail, email or fax using the Buycrash.com Request for New Jersey Vehicle Crash Report form.

  • Complete the form with method of delivery,
    • US mail (include a self-addressed, stamped envelope with your request),
    • Email - provide your email
    • Fax - provide your fax
    • Name of a driver, date of the crash, report number, circle New Jersey Turnpike or Garden State Parkway, your name, address, city, state, zip, and phone, sign and date the form
  • Include a certified check or money order for $5 made payable to LexisNexis Risk Solutions (personal checks are not accepted).

Atlantic City Expressway Crash Reports

Accidents on the Atlantic City Expressway are handled by the Atlantic City Police Department. Parkway. You can request your crash report online or by mail.
