Woman Identified after Crash in Frankford

Frankford, NJ (11/14/2019) -  One woman is dead and another injured after a crash on Thursday morning. The collision happened on Ross Corner Sussex Road around 11:30 am.

Elaine Bernardini, 77, drove her Chevrolet southbound and crossed over the double yellow line. She struck a Toyota SUV driven by a 37-year-old woman. 

EMTs transported Bernardini to Newton Medical Center. She died of her injuries, according to NJSP Trooper Charles Marchan. Paramedics transported the other driver to St. Claire’s hospital with moderate injuries. 

The crash remained under investigation as of Friday.

We would like to express our condolences to those affected by this tragic car accident. These types of accidents are all too common in New Jersey. Unfortunately, they take a lot of time and resources to investigate. Once the cause of the accident is determined and the person or party at fault is identified charges can be brought forward.
