Collision on Route 70

Toms River, NJ — Three people were seriously injured, one critically, in a Friday morning Sept. 13th crash on Route 70, Toms River police said.

Barbara Bane, 55, of Ocean Gate, was listed in critical condition Friday afternoon after being airlifted to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune, said a police spokesperson.

Her rear-seat passenger, whom police did not identify, and the driver of the other vehicle, Katelynn Kline, 21, of Manchester, were taken by ambulance to Jersey Shore with serious injuries, said police.

Reports say Bane was traveling westbound at about 9:30 a.m. Friday when she attempted a left turn onto Whitesville Road, colliding with Kline’s vehicle. Kline was eastbound on Route 70 in the right lane at the time, said police.

The accident is under investigation.
