Pedestrian struck, killed by New Jersey Transit bus

Paterson, NJ – A Paterson city resident has died after being struck by a New Jersey Transit bus this past week. 

The accident occurred near Main Street and Mary Street on Thursday just before 2 p.m. according to reports.

The victim, 46-year-old John Kennan, was pronounced dead at the scene after Paterson police arrived.

The bus driver remained on scene after the accident to speak with authorities and is not being charged. No further details of the accident have been disclosed.   

The bus was carrying close to a dozen passengers when the accident occured. However, no other injuries have been reported. 

The Paterson police and the Passaic County Prosecutor's office are still investigating the accident.
