Woodbridge, NJ – A police officer was critically injured while leading a funeral procession on Tuesday, July 23, in Woodbridge Township.
Captain William Boggier, 58, who has been active in the county’s fight against opioid addiction, suffered critical injuries in a crash while he was on his motorcycle during the procession.
A spokeswoman for the prosecutor’s office said it was unclear exactly when or how the accident occurred.
Captain Boggier was taken to the intensive care unit at University Hospital with life-threatening injuries.
