Riverdale, NJ – One man is dead after a multiple vehicle collision on Tuesday morning. The crash happened on Route 23 on the southbound side of the highway near Windbeam Road.
The crash involved a car, a dump truck, and possibly another truck. No details about the victim other than gender have been released.
A witness who drove by the scene said she heard a loud crash. The witness, Michelle Jaimeson stated that it “happened so quickly we had to slam on our brakes.” She noted the appearance of the car saying it looked like “a smashed can.” When she drove past the scene an hour later, it was partially covered by police.
Residents near the scene have said that the intersection is a point of concern. The intersection sits at the bottom of a hill and people often slam on their brakes to stop at the light.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
